About Kilobytez
A Texas software firm in Prosper, built on fourteen years of enterprise IT, data architecture and capital-markets technology.
Our Story
Kilobytez is principal-led on purpose. When you hire us you are not routed to an account manager, staffed with whoever is on the bench, or handed to an offshore team after the pitch. You get the person who wrote the proposal, for the whole engagement.
That constrains how much we take on, and we would rather tell you we are booked than staff your project with someone you have never met. It also means the person answering your technical questions on the first call is the person who will be answering them at 11pm during a cutover.
Devon Edwards has been doing this work since 2012: fourteen years in enterprise IT and data architecture, the last three of those as chief technology officer of a hedge fund. Kilobytez LLC is the new Texas company built on that experience, and its work runs from a Shopify storefront to a statistical arbitrage pipeline.
Based in Prosper, we are close to the Dallas market structure ecosystem. With the Texas Stock Exchange establishing itself in Dallas since its announced July 2026 launch window, Texas is becoming a larger center for capital markets, and being forty minutes from it is useful.

Why North Texas?
The Texas Stock Exchange announced a launch window of July 2 to 17, 2026, and it is headquartered in Dallas. Kilobytez is based in North Texas specifically to serve the market growing around that. Being local matters in this work: it means being available for on-site sessions and understanding the regional ecosystem rather than reading about it.
How We Work
AI-assisted speed, human engineering judgment
Kilobytez uses AI tools as leverage for research, planning, scaffolding, refactoring, documentation, and testing. The final responsibility stays with a human engineer who reviews the architecture, code, security, data flow, edge cases, dependencies, and deployment path. That engineer is Devon.
AI Acceleration
Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, and similar tools can help explore options, draft code, generate tests, and document systems faster.
Human Review
Production code is reviewed by a human for correctness, security, maintainability, accessibility, and fit to the business workflow.
Risk Controls
Sensitive data, customer-facing output, financial workflows, and operational decisions get explicit review points.
Clear Handoff
Projects ship with documentation, runbooks, deployment notes, and monitoring where the system requires ongoing care.

Devon Edwards has spent fourteen years in enterprise IT and data architecture. For three of them he was Chief Technology Officer of a hedge fund, responsible for the security of its proprietary trading platforms. Before that he led the IT team at a construction group, and before that he ran Windows Server and Active Directory administration, SCCM and WSUS patch deployment, and hybrid cloud infrastructure. He is a US citizen, works from Prosper, Texas, and leads every Kilobytez engagement.

We do not publish testimonials we cannot attribute to a named person who agreed to be quoted. When we have them, they will carry names. Until then, here is what you can verify without asking us:
Reference calls with named clients are available with those clients' permission. Ask, and we will make the introduction, or tell you plainly that the client is under NDA and cannot.
